Counselling in Ipswich

Looking for Counselling in Ipswich?

I’ve been running a private counselling business since qualifying in 2004.

Hi - I'm Linda

I am an experienced therapist and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).  I’ve been running a private counselling business since qualifying in 2004.  I have worked with the NHS as a voluntary counsellor and have completed training in short and long term counselling, bereavement counselling with Cruse, drug and alcohol addictions, domestic abuse, depression and anxiety, art therapy, communication through images and metaphors, trust and betrayal and other related courses.

I believe counselling can be hugely beneficial in helping you to deal with any concerns you may have in your life.  The benefit of being able to talk to a qualified counsellor as an objective listener in your life can allow you to see things from a different perspective.  I appreciate it can be difficult to take that first step and make contact, but if you have any questions or just want an informal chat to find out how I can help, please don’t hesitate in contacting me on 07708 264115 or via my contact form.

About counselling

What is counselling and how can it help?

Counselling gives you the time to reflect on what you are unhappy about in your life and to make changes as you wish.

How can counselling help?

It is a safe space for you and is just about you – in this busy world, we don’t always have the opportunity to have the time and space to reflect on ourselves and our own needs.

Why counselling?

Anyone can come for counselling – there are many reasons why we seek help.

How does counselling work?

My counselling style is integrative – this is a combined approach to psychotherapy that allows me to use different elements of specific theories and therapies.

Counselling

We continue to go through difficult times globally and at home where much seems to be outside of our control.  We can feel we are working harder to deal with our day to day issues and have little time to consider our own needs amongst the demands that we deal with.  At times we can feel overwhelmed, and counselling can help to help us see things from a different perspective and reframe where we can make changes for our own wellbeing.  I offer counselling in whichever medium you are comfortable with, whether this is face to face, over the phone counselling or media platforms such as Microsoft Teams, etc.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need support – I will be happy to help you.

Testimonials

I cannot speak highly enough of Linda. She’s helped me through a rough time in my life over the past few months. I’ve had a lot of work stress and having her help to get me where I am now has been a godsend. She's helped me see a lot of things differently and sort out in my head what’s important in life. She is very calm and friendly with moments of brevity and humour where appropriate. Today I am a happier, healthy person because of her help.

I cannot speak highly enough of Linda. She was recommended to me when I was going through a period of my life in which I needed someone non-judgemental and experienced to talk to. I personally have benefited immensely from my sessions with Linda. She has listened, helped me to challenge some of the negative beliefs I had developed about myself, understand myself better and got me back in control of navigating the ups and downs of life by equipping me with various coping mechanisms.

Linda is such an amazing lady I would recommend her to anyone thinking about having counselling. I was very anxious about beginning my sessions as the thought of talking about myself to a stranger seemed so daunting. However, Linda instantly made me feel at ease, she has such a warm approachable personality and really listens and understands any problems I have shared. She has truly been a rock and has helped me so much with battling my issues. She also makes a very good cup of tea which is always a bonus in my eyes!

I came to counselling with Linda as I was struggling to come to terms with the break up of my marriage. There were many things I could not discuss with friends and family but I wondered if talking things through with someone who was not involved would be helpful. From the moment I met Linda she made me feel really comfortable and I found I could speak with her about anything and be really honest about my feelings. She helped me to sort out my own way to deal with what was happening and I looked forward to our sessions. I am now in a great place and feeling content with my new single life. If you are struggling to figure things out give counselling a try!
