At some point in our lives, most of us have had times where we find life challenging and are not sure where to turn or which direction to take to solve our issues. Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk in privacy and confidence about issues in your life that may be causing you concern or anxiety, and to help you to come to decisions that are right for you.
A counsellor’s role is not to advise or tell you what to do, but to explore and understand what is going on in your life and to help you. Having someone listen to you who is unbiased, objective and empathic helps us to use our own ability to make decisions or changes in our lives.
I believe it is important that you choose the right counsellor for you – it stands to reason that if you feel a connection with someone, you will work more productively towards your end goal.
I am an experienced therapist and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I’ve been running a private counselling business since qualifying in 2004. The first step can be the hardest to take, but tiny steps start your journey. Please leave a message if I am unable to answer when you call and I will ring you back.
